Car Road Tax Service

The road tax that the owners of the cars and motorcycles need to pay once a year. The cost of the tax varies based on the power of the vehicle expressed in Kw. The road tax is a tax related to the possession of the vehicle and it must be paid even if you do not circulate with the vehicle. The tax must not be paid after it is sold, theft and exportation of the vehicle. The cost varies also based on the region of residence, the power of the vehicle, and it can be quantified up to 170 euros per year for an average power (55kw) vehicle. For the most powerful vehicles the property tax can be quantified up to 170 euros per year. For the most powerful vehicles the property tax can reach and overcome 5000 euros per year.

When to pay the road tax

In Italy the road tax can be paid in three period ranges and the deadlines are the following: January 30th, May 31st, September 30th. This period varies based on when the car was originally registered at the PVR (Public Vehicle Register). The road tax is subject to exemptions and cost reductions.

 

When Do I have to pay?

The cost is subject to reduction when it owns a car with LPG fuel or natural gas. 

For hybrid and electric cars instead, based on the geographic affiliation an exemption is foreseen for a limited period of time (from 2 to 5 years).

Historical cars (after 30 years) are almost fully exempted, indeed a lump-sum/flat rate of around 30 euros must be paid.
